Enoteca Maria

Nonnas in Training

The aim of Nonnas in Training is to keep alive the passing down of technique and knowledge from one generation to another, and from one culture to another. Every day we are open (Fri-Sun.) we have a different international Nonna cooking at Enoteca Maria, and now from 12-3, they will be teaching how they make their signature dishes in a daily FREE one on one cooking class. The only catch is you don’t get to choose the nationality of the chef you will study under. Use the registration form here on the website to let us know your availability and we will contact you with your enrollment date to come in and receive hands on training from one of our acclaimed international Nonne.

Please read the F.A.Q. Section at the bottom for details.

****F.A.Q. Section*****

We wish to thank everybody who is applying to Enoteca’s Nonnas in Training program.

Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions:

Can I bring another person with me?

The answer, unfortunately, is no. Nonnas in Training is a ONE to ONE class, only one Nonna in training for each Enoteca Nonna.

Can I be scheduled with a Nonna who doesn’t cook meat (or fish, or whatever)?

We do not know in advance what the Nonna of the day is going to cook. So it’s not possible for us to schedule the Nonna in Training matching or avoiding some kinds of food.

I am allergic to shellfish, nuts, ….

If you have any kind of food allergy, please, do not sign for this program, since we do not have control on the ingredients used by the daily Nonna.

Can I come early in the morning?

The cooking session is from 12pm to 3pm on Fri, Sa, Sun.

How much does it cost?

Nonnas in Training is a free program that aims to keep alive the passing down of technique and knowledge from one generation to another, and from one culture to another. You just have to bring your own apron and hat, and wear closed toed shoes and long pants.

For directions please go to “Info and Directions” on our website.

Due to the great response to this program there may be up to a 4 month wait time.
