I just had Sunday dinner with my girlfriend and we had an awesome time. This was our first time at Enoteca and we were excited.
The mussels and clams in red sauce were delicious. It was served with home made bread which we dipped in the sauce. The sauce in all the entrees we had was out of this world. We enjoyed a bottle of red wine from Sicily. The ambiance was perfect and Joe was attentive to his customers.
The only problem we had was that the homemade cookies weren’t ready when we wanted to order dessert. But before we left they were ready and we got a few from Joe to take home. Thanks!!
Yes,the menu had a variety of unusual entrees like lamb hearts, lamb head and tripe but it’s country style cooking which some people like. My girlfriend’s husband called ahead to check out the menu. He ordered several of these entrees for her to bring home which he enjoyed. We plan to return very soon. This restaurant is tops on my list.

I love dining at Enoteca Maria, food is delicious, my family and I had the honor of meeting Nonna MArgherita. Her food is amazing, it reminded me of my home town and my own moms cooking. Will be back soon!!!

The ladies do…from time to time make arancini ( rice balls) but I never know when……..it’s alway better to leave them a free hand in these matters….food is an affair of the heart as well as the stomach….and I’m never disappointed …c u soon…joe

Hi, just reading to see if you replied to my suggestion. Oh wow, when I was younger, there was a lady from Italy who made the best riceballs on earth. I used to beg her to make them. I would LOVE it if you could have some on the menu for Mothers Day? OH and that sponge cake with ricotta and choc chips sound glorious. Hi! I made a reservation today with you. You were so welcoming, and kind. I loved it! I wish every sassy, and snippy restaurant greeters were just like you! Ok, so when I saw this comment section, I decided to comment a requst! (Some nerve huh, I havent even eaten there yet! haha) How bout definitely having the sponge cake, etc etc on it/fresh whipped cream and whatever else for mothers day, and also how bout taking off the sheeps head, pigs feet, knuckles, brains etc? I cant wait to eat there, but honestly am afraid I might get sick reading the menu. I read it to my daughter and we looked at eachother, but I told her how wonderful you were on the phone, and you had plenty of other wonderful things on the menu, so we decided we have to go. We LOVE the idea of lots of love from Grandma, and the owner was so nice! I hope you have baked clams, maybe fried zucchini? I know the brains etc are like country cooking, but maybe you could put that on a separate menu so the rest of us dont get sick looking at it? Sorry, just had to write this. I am so looking forward to dinner at your Nannas.

OH, my tomato sauce, pure fresh tomatoes from garden. Olive oil, tons of chopped garlic, salt saute then add tomatoes and cook, simmer for a long time..delicious.everybody out here in California wants me to jar the stuff, it’s simple and delicious.

Being a “Nonna” this hit home, as I was born, raised and lived in Queens, New York..Mom is Neopolitan, Dad Calabrian..Even tho I live in Berkeley, had to let you know what a great idea this is…there’s NO good tasty, delicious REAL Italian food out west here….of course except for MINE. Hi Joe..I grew up on Staten Island and my high school graduation was at the St. George Theater. Fast forward 39 years and I’m living outside San Francisco, listening to National Public Radio at 7:30 this morning and I hear a great piece all about Enoteca Maria!! Of course, my ears perked up when I heard the restaurant was on Staten Island and now, here I am salivating as I watch the numerous videos of all the gramdma’s cooking….mmmmm…can’t really get good Italian food here. I guess I’ll just have to dream about Enoteca until I can make it over some evening…Until then…

Our meal this past saturday evening was the best of my life. Nonna Adelena’s Torta Rustica al fichi nearly made me cry it was so good.
Your wait staff was so lovely, fun and helpful, your wine selection was fantastic and well priced, the food (and we ordered a lot) was the best i’ve ever eaten. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
We’re looking forward to many more meals at Enoteca Maria!

I am in love with this wonderful Italian restaurant. It is a pleasure to have something so new and diffent on Staten Island.

I have been cooking since I was 9 years old – My grandparents originated from Naples, Italy and had a wonderful restaurant in lower Manhattan for a number of years. Learning from my mother and her family of 7 brothers and sisters, I have taken their way of Italian cooking and specialized them and created my own. My life is cooking for my family and friends – there is nothing more relaxing than being in the kitchen. I lost my husband, of 32 years, several months ago, and he was my best critic! How I miss him!

The whole Enoteca experience is wonderful and shows not only deep love and knowledge of food, but also profound enjoyment and fondness for creating a congenial, informative, warm atmosphere for fine dining, friends, and great wine. Cynthia and I had a late diner at Enoteca Friday, July 3. We were seated at the bar and we had a great veiw of the action taking place in the resturant. The place was packed as it usally is and the food is the greatest in the city.
I want to let you now, Gaia, that the meal you prepared for Cynthia was I was the finest meal I can remember since the passing of my mother who died in 1992. The preparation and the flavor of the food was wonderful. What can I say? I had a religious or better yet a spirtual experience as I had the honor of eating the meai you cooked. To be lucky to access to your cooking is truely one of the real joys of life. I am grateful that there are people like you who enjoy their talent and give so freely to other.
