From Prosecco to Passito
VIN FRIZZANTI
PROSECCO $12/36
The bouquet is fruity, intense and elegant. Clear scents of golden apples come through a floral background: Extremely long finish, unlike champagne.
BRACHETTO D’Acqui “Pinetto” (Strevi) 2013 $16/50
This unique wine represents one of the best offerings of Acqui viticulture. Aromas of rose, soft fruit and spice are followed by balanced sweetness and soft acidity. Creamy effervescence on the finish increases the drinkable pleasure. Fabulous when paired with fruit tarts, biscotti, and pastry … or, simply enjoyed by itself.
VIN ROSÉ
Pace Rosanebbia (Canale) 2017 $13/39
Made from 100% Nebbiollo grapes, the nose of the Rosanebbia denotes spicy hints of rose petals, with a fresh mineral palate. Joe says, “This is an elegant wine with a good persistence and a bright dry finish!”
VINI DOLCI
MOSCATO Passito di Pantelleria (Sicilia) $16/50
100% Zibibbo grapes from Sicily make this sweet wine perfect to pair with cheese, with desserts or with chocolates. The harvest takes place from the 15th of August to the 30th of September, then selected bunches are set out to dry in the sun on stones for 30 to 40 days – being turned by hand several times. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and is not completed until summer.
VIN SANTO del Chianti Classico (Toscana) $16/50
The Vin Santo has been produced since the 14th century in Tuscany. It has always been known as the wine of friendship and every household – rich or poor – was never without it. It is served at any time of day, although most prefer it at the end of a meal. Vin Santo is still considered to be a symbol of Italian tradition! The grape varietal is Trebbiano and Malvasia del Chianti. It goes great with cheese, by itself, or served with biscotti.
